For the first time this year Scottish Supermoto raced at the Grampian Kart Club, sadly numbers were severely down from our normal. Never the less we raced on!
Scot Comp were out testing both their promoted rider Andrew Gow and also Crasher Murray’s 2013 ride. Murray told reporters that the bike felt really good, great power delivery. Crasher Murray did not live up to his nickname however firmly set his role as Scot Comps #1 rider. Murray is looking to finish the race season at home track Crail on the TM however will this throw away the championship to 2nd place Ian Bremner?
Team Asda all turned up for the racing however only rider Ben McLuskey was out on track. Team Asda has had its fair share of accidents this year and are looking forward to the 2013 race season where they will be back to full force and full fitness. Questions are being raised about newly married Gary McLuskey following a large crash last round at the British Masters @ Crail will he go back to green or stay orange? At least his bike now matches his van!
Scottishsupermoto.com is proud to announce its new photographer as Kirsty is now racing we have been relying on photographers to attend the track. Following a large crash on his mini Supermoto a few months ago Sean Wardlaw has decided to give up two wheeled Motorsport and focus on helping out. Sean picked up the camera for the first time this weekend and managed to capture some amazing shots in the offroad section. Sean has offered to take photos at all rounds using Kirsty’s camera. Kirsty will continue to upload them onto her Facebook or the Scottish Supermoto Facebook. Professional photographer George Rosie has been at a few of the Scottish rounds this year. He has been given rights to the Scottish Supermoto Facebook to post his photos there.
Again I would like to mention the lack of numbers this weekend, we are hoping everyone who has raced Supermoto to attend the final round to close the 2012 season with the largest grid of the year, the championships are still very close and even for spectating it will be a brilliant show. If you are new to Supermoto feel free to come along and join in, we have rookie members who are still developing, you will not be swamped while racing, you will be put in a class according to your lap times.
This weekends racing was for Overall championship points and will be updated online shortly.
